Why this exists
Most relocation content for Spain falls into two camps: holiday brochures or bureaucratic checklists. Neither helps a family actually decide where to live.
Where They Moved is a third option — a collection of family relocation stories that focus on the trade-offs, the worries, and the moments where the plan changed.
How the stories work
Each story follows the same shape: who the family is, what they wanted, what they worried about, where they looked, why they chose what they chose, what worked, what was harder than expected, and what they would do differently.
Stories are written in feature-article style, not blog format. They are designed to be read once and remembered — not skimmed.
Why privacy matters
Stories are anonymised or composite-style profiles designed to show the real trade-offs families face when choosing where to live in Spain.
We don't use named families, fake quotes, or stock-photo testimonials. The patterns are real. The privacy is non-negotiable.
Why Spain only — for now
Spain is one country with very different regions. Valencia is not Mallorca. Inland Málaga is not the Costa del Sol. Treating Spain as a single decision is the most common mistake international families make.
By staying Spain-only, the collection can compare regions seriously, instead of being one more generic "moving abroad" site.
Stories first. Tools when you need them.
Where They Moved is story-led. It helps families recognise the real trade-offs behind moving to Spain.
Burn The Boats is the practical comparison tool. It helps families compare Spanish regions and get a clearer family match report for their own move.
